Vocational skills

Eight practical courses, taught with tools in hand and certified by the Directorate of Industrial Training. This is the part of KCS that turns school leavers into job creators.

We also offer

A trade to leave with

A certificate on its own does not feed a family. That is the thinking behind every course on this page: a student who finishes here should be able to earn from a skill on the day they walk out of the gate, whether or not they carry on to university.

Courses run alongside the ordinary timetable, so no one has to choose between their books and their trade. Work is practical from the first week, and it is assessed by the Directorate of Industrial Training under our centre number UVQF/5176.

What you finish with

A DIT certificate

Every practical course here leads to assessment by the Directorate of Industrial Training, the national body for vocational qualifications. Students who complete their training and pass are awarded a DIT certificate under our centre number, UVQF/5176.

It is a national qualification, not a school one. That matters when a young person is standing in front of an employer, or applying for a loan to set up on their own.
